Drunken Sailor JailedA 29-year-old sailor was collided with a motorcycle whilst being over the limit has been jailed.
From the case on July 10th 2015; at 6.00 p.m. where a pick-up truck had collided with a motorbike and Petty Officer First Class (PO1) Somkiet Amornmookdakul, aged 29, was the drunken driver. After colliding with the motorcycle he then tried to flee the scene but the motorcycle was trapped underneath the pick-up so he parked up 2 km down the road. The injured bike riders were identified as Mrs. Pranee Jirawongthaworn, aged 46, and Miss Pathitta Jirawongthaworn, aged 4, who was a daughter of Mrs. Pranee who sustained a broken leg.
SATTAHIP – July 11th 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 9.00 a.m. Pol.Col. Mekhawit Praditphon (Superintendent of Sattahip police station, Chon Buri province) had commanded Pol.Capt. Saijai Khamjulla (Inquiry official who is responsible for this case) to prosecute PO1 Somkiet Amornmookdakul with driving whilst drunk, causing an accident and fleeing the scene of an accident. He was then jailed before being sent to the court martial (military court) of the 14th Military Circle, Chon Buri, and also denied bail. He was found to have 154 mg/100 of alcohol in his blood which is well over the legal limit.
The doctors at the Queen Sirikit Hospital couldn’t save Miss Pathitta’s leg and had to amputate it from the knee down.
