SATTAHIP – October 15, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 1 am, a report by a citizen that a car was parked in a perilous spot on Sukhumvit road near a school was received by a staff member of the radio center of Sawang Rojjanathammasathan foundation Sattahip.

The car was a bronze Mazda 3, parked on Sukhumvit 3, Rayong-Sattahip route, Km.175, opposite of Bamrungsitsuksa school, moo 2, Sattahip, Chonburi. A lot of cars were passing dangerously close to the car, the citizen said.

Police went to check the scene, and found the car, which was parked on the opposing side of the highway, about 500 meters from a U-Turn. It was parked on the right lane and facing oncoming traffic, where many cars were passing dangerously. The car had left-turn signal was continuously blinking, as if to signal the driver was going to park on the side of the road.

The police saw a sticker on the car that said, “Navy Sergeant Cadet Generation 44.” In the car they saw the 30-year-old driver was sleeping in cold air conditioning, wearing a full military printed uniform. The police had to knock on his window for more than 10 minutes before the man woke up. When he finally woke up, he was dazed, as if very drunk. He appeared somewhat shocked when he saw a lot of journalists taking pictures.

The police helped him to drive to park his vehicle at the rim of the road for safety. It was not long before he drove away. The entire incident came and went fast.

The journalists reported that the man who had parked and slept in his car was presumably a Navy man who just came from a party, but he was too drunk. So he drove on the opposite side of the road to park and take a nap, in order to be safe and not drive while drunk. But he parked in the wrong spot.
