After an initial necropsy (post-mortem examination) the officers didn’t find any wounds or traces of foul play and estimated he had been dead for around 2 hours. The rescuers then sent the corpse to Sattahip Hospital for an autopsy in order to find the actual cause of death before contacting his relatives to pick up his body.

Upon questioning Mr. Wongsak Sai-rod, aged 48, who is a friend of the deceased he said that Mr. Tong (the deceased) used to be a painter but due to his addiction to rice whisky he could not work anymore and turned to collecting rubbish to make money to buy more rice whiskey. The cause of his death might be because he had drank too much rice whisky while sitting in the sun.
