Drunk Thai Shot In Shoulder Outside Soi Bongkot Pub

A 21-year-old Thai man was accidentally shot in his shoulder during a fracas between two groups of men leaving a Soi Bongkot pub. The victim was taken to Banglamung hospital by rescue officers. The Pattaya police did not show up to investigate the incident, the victim said.

PATTAYA – February 22, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; an injured shooting victim was brought to Banglamung hospital by rescuers from Sawangboriboon Thammasathan, Pattaya, Chonburi.

The incident occurred in the front of Mc2 pub in soi Bongkot, south Pattaya, moo 10, Nongprue, Banglamung. The injured victim was identified as Mr. Sumeth Prasankasem , 21 years old. He had had been shot in his shoulder from the back.

He told rescuers he had gone to the pub with his 7 friends, and they had all gotten drunk. Then they got pissed off with another group of people at the pub. After the pub closed, Mr. Sumeth was walking out with his friends, and they were about to summon motorcycle taxis.

Suddenly there was a loud noise, and chaos erupted from people quarrelling. Then there was the sound of a gunshot, and he got shot in the shoulder by accident. There were many injured victims from the fighting, the victim said. But the Pattaya police did not show up to investigate or find the unknown gunman to prosecute.
