Drugs Purge in Koh Larn

A dawn raid involving 200 officers from various police forces working in conjunction carried out a purge of drugs in Koh Larn resulting in several arrests.

Pattaya, 17th February 2011[Pattaya Daily News]: At approximately 05.30am Pol. Maj. Gen. Achawan Chotiksathien (Drug Suppression 2 Commissioner), Pol. Col. Chayaphot Hasuntha (Deputy) led a team of over 200 officers from Pattaya Police, Fleet of Ships Region 2, Pattaya Tourist Police,,Immigration Police, Police Investigators, Pattaya administrative assistant and police dogs to operate a purge of drug dealers in Koh Larn village community, Moo7, Naklua,Banglamung.The raid resulted from investigations indicating that Koh Larn is a source of distributing, concealing and selling class 1 drugs.

The search found a total of 19 suspects, consisting of 5 Ya-Ba dealers, 1 person in possession of Ya-Ice intended for sale, one person in possession of marijuana, 6 drug users, 5 fugitive suspects and one gambler. Impounded as evidence were 400 pills pf Ya-Ba, 1 gram of Ya-Ice, 1 pack of marijuana, a money list showing 350,000 baht, and cash of 40,000 baht.

All suspects have been sent to Pattaya Police Investigation for prosecution.
