Drug Gang Arrested With Over 6,000 Amphetamine Pills

Sattahip police and Navy officers have arrested a big drug dealing gang who were caught with over 6,000 amphetamine pills.

SATTAHIP – April 4,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.00 p.m. at Sattahip police station, Chon Buri province, Pol.Col. Mekhawit Praditphon (Superintendent of Sattahip police station) together with Captain Phisit Thongtha (Head of Narcotics Prevention and Suppression Unit, Royal Thai Fleet), Pol.Lt.Col. Niphon Pomsanarm (Deputy Superintendent), forces of the Narcotics Suppression officers of the Royal Thai Fleet, officers of the Air and Coastal Defence Command and the detective police team of Sattahip police station together made a statement about the arrest of 7 defendants of a drug dealing gang which consisted of 1. Mr. Worraphon or Tam Nuamket, aged 23, with 5,800 amphetamines pills, 51.5g of methamphetamines and an Isuzu pick-up truck, license no. Bol Lor – 4572 Rayong, 2. Mr. Jakkrit Prairaharn, aged 37, with 200 amphetamine pills and 1 revolver (pistol) size 7.65 mm., 3. Mr. Jamorn or Jack Pha-so, aged 41, with 200 amphetamine pills, 4. Mr. Thanarat or Jo Jan-uam, aged 25, with exhibits of 200 amphetamine pills, 5. Mr. Wiwat or Tey Yueayai, aged 35, with exhibits of 100 amphetamine pills, 6. Mr. Naruedech Thongyos, aged 46, with exhibits of 80 amphetamine pills and 7. Mr. Jeerawat or Mai Yaemsuan, aged 28, with exhibits of 50 amphetamine pills.


Pol.Col. Mekhawit Praditphon (Superintendent of Sattahip police station) revealed that this arrest was due to the Chon Buri Provincial Police Station who had ordered the police in Sattahip to crack down on crimes during the Songkran festival, therefore the police had coordinated with the naval officers and found out that Mr. Worraphon or Tam (a big agent of drug) was selling drugs so the officers set up a sting operation using an undercover agent to purchase 400 amphetamine pills before they arrested him. The officers also found 5,400 amphetamine pills and 51.5g of methamphetamine which were hidden in house no. 464/1, Moo 2 Tambon Phana Nikhom, Amphur Nikhom Phatthana, Rayong province. Mr. Worraphon confessed that he had sold drug for many years and there were over 10 agents in his drug network so the police followed up on the leads and arrested 7 of the gang members who were prosecuted accordingly.
