Drug Dealing Motorbike Driver Arrested In Sattahip

Sattahip Navy special forces arrested a 34-year-old motorbike driver for selling meth pills to soldiers. He was entrapped in an undercover “sting” buy. The suspect confessed to selling meth to soldiers many times, to earn money to use meth for himself.

SATTAHIP – March 15, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 2:30 p.m., a motorbike for hire driver was arrested for drug dealing by the special forces of the National Command Centre for Combating Drugs, marine division.

The suspect was identified as Mr. Bualeaun Somboon, 34 years old, living in Hardlek, Klongyai, Trad. The suspect worked as a motorbike-for-hire driver, number 23, with his workplace near Krom Luang Choomphon Khetudomsak naval base.

He is charged with possession of a Type-1 drug for sales and selling. Police seized the evidence of 5 tablets of meth, 1,900 baht in banknotes used in the entrapment, and a cell phone. Police also seized his red Honda Click motorcycle at the security squad area, Thai Royal Marine Corps, red plate, numbers 9-9723, Sattahip.

The arrest of the suspect was the result of the expanding of an earlier case of a private soldier, who was arrested with meth. The soldier disclosed to police that he bought the meth from the motorbike driver.

So the marine police officers planned to entrap the suspect by arranging to buy 5 tablets of meth. An arrangement was made for him to deliver the drugs at an appointed place. The suspect was wearing his motorbike driver uniform while making the drug delivery. So the marine officers showed their identities and arrested him.

After his arrest, the suspect confessed he had been selling drugs for a long time, and had sold his drugs many times. He got his meth supply from a man named “Sao” who lived in Banamphoe market. The suspect told police he was dealing drugs because he wanted money to consume meth for his own use.
