Pattaya, the 10th of June 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: At approximately 12:30pm, Lieutenant Colonel Santi Chucherd (Pattaya Police Investigator) and a team of police had been organised to investigate drug dealing activities in the Soi Korphai area of Banglamung.

On arrival at the scene, police immediately spotted a Thai man, Mr. Wasan Boonnukoon [31], acting suspiciously at the end of the road. The 10 officer strong team decided to approach him to inquire as to why he was in the area, at which point he fled leading officers on a short chase within the Soi.

Police Senior Sergeant Major Amnuai Boonlert (Investigation Head) managed to chase the suspect into a small local snooker venue at the beginning of Soi Korphai. Upon reaching the business, Mr. Kraisi Boonukoon [22], Mr. Wasan’s brother, came outside and immediately attacked the officer with a 1.3m long snooker cue, hitting him in the mouth and around the body. Fortunately, perusing officers were able to arrest Mr. Boonukoon before he could do any more harm to the Snr. Sgt.

Officers arrested the pair before a search uncovered 3 pills of Ya-Ba and approximately 0.7g of Ya-Ice concealed on Mr. Wasan. Both men were taken to the Pattaya Police Station where Mr. Wasan is expected to be charge with class-1 drug possession and use whilst Mr. Kraisi will be charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
