Driver Caught Red Handed Modifying Guns in Pattaya

A bus driver of a tour company in Pattaya was arrested after the police found out that he was in possession of a lot of guns. He told police he modified the guns and sold them.

PATTAYA – July 29, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 00.10 am Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong-deputy commander of Chonburi and acting superintendent of Pattaya police station-, Pol.Lt.Col.Pairoj Petchploy-acting deputy investigation inspector of Pattaya police station-, Pol.Maj.Thanawin Kaewsiang-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station-, Pol.Capt.Netithorn Rattanasuchanan-deputy inspector- made a statement about the arrest of Mr.Cherchat Pengpan aged 38 from Ubonratchathani province. The police officers had arrested him in the act of possessing arms, ammunition, drugs, importing drugs. He was arrested with a .22 rifle, a gunstock, two 9 mm. pistols, a .22 pistol, a lot of ammunition, spare gun parts, equipment, a gun manual book and 11.15 grams of cannabis.

Mr.Cherchat was a driver of a tour company in Pattaya and was involved with drugs and arms. The police officers had been monitoring him for a while and they found out that Mr.Cherchat parked his bus in Klom Tanmun field, Bang Lamung district. Later the officers inspected his bus and found a pack of cannabis. Also the officers searched him and found that he was carrying firearms and ammunition so they confiscated them.
Upon questioning Mr.Cherchat he revealed that he liked to modify guns and he had bought a BB gun body part to modify into a real gun himself. He had learnt how to do it on the internet. Also he had ordered some spare parts from the internet in order to produce guns to sell.
