All of this started in Pattaya on at 04.30 am, on 27th August, when Police Lieutenant Jumras Tongjinda, [Deputy Police Investigator], was leading his team, who were patrolling in Soi Wat Boon, Jomtien. In the middle of the Soi, they spotted a motorbike that was being ridden by a man with a large heavy item, covered with fertilizer bags. He was suspected to be one of the thieves involved in the stealing of steel sewer lids in the Pattaya City area. Police stopped him for further checking, but as the driver was parking his bike he quite unexpectedly ran away into the bush nearby.

The police officers then sealed off the area to search for the thief but he could not be found. Inspection of the villain’s motorcycle showed that the steel drain cover, [sized approximately 70 x 50 cm], weighed in at 50 kg, and police assumed it had been stolen from a nearby Soi.

Furthermore, the police informed the relevant Pattaya authorities concerned, and they will collaborate to further examine this case. The left behind motor bike, [Red Kawasaki “Cosmo” with Reg. plate “Chor-8867 Ratchaburi,” ] would be checked upon and the owner would be searched for continuously, until he is eventually taken in for further questioning.
