Don’t Put Off Things Until Tomorrow

It is a journey of no return, no more next day, pain. And, besides, you cannot escape it! It is just simply a SURE thing.

An elderly man had recently lost his beloved wife, who had a habit of putting off things. As their wedding anniversary was coming up, the man thought he would treat his wife to something really special so decided to take her to the most expensive, finest Jewellers’ and a clothing store in town. They both had an enjoyable day. Upon arriving home, the wife put the clothes and jewelleries away and said to her husband ,‘ I will wear the things that you bought me one of these days.’ A week went by, then a month, and she still did not find the right occasion to wear those precious items.

Until one day, the two, having spent a quiet night in front of television together decided to turn in. The sad thing is his wife never woke up again the next morning. He walked up to her wardrobe and took out the clothes, still in their pristine condition, that he had bought for her over six months ago and also the expensive jewellery items, never never been worn. He paused for a moment and started to cry as he embraced his wife’s clothes against him.

The elderly man had learnt a valuable lesson by not putting off things and learnt not to be frugal with his money as his wife did. He began to visit his favourite restaurant more often. He began to call his estranged mother more often and tell her that he loves her more often. Because he was never sure if he would wake up to see the next morning again.
