Pattaya, 8 December 2010 (PDN): On Wednesday Dongtan Police Station Investigator Lieutenant Colonel Thailert Luepue was notified that a Thai woman was threatening to jump from a platform on top of the Angkate Condominium in Soi Watbunkanjanaram, Jomtien Beach Road, Nongprue, Banglamung. A police team and the Sawang Boriboon Foundation rescues service,  were dispatched to the scene to investigate.

At the top of the 18 floor building, they discovered Miss Kai (full name not known) [35],  from Nongkhai, standing on the air compressor situated over the dge of the building. She was crying and screaming that she was angry with her foreign boyfriend who didn’t care about her. She wouldn’t allow anyone to approach her and attempts to calm her down were unsuccessful. But in a moment when she was off-guard, an officer rushed to restrain her and brought her to safety, though she was still shouting and screaming. The condominium manager, Mr. Thanachot Sukwatthana, eventually managed to calm her down.

Condominium staff members told officers that the previous morning (7 December), a resident of the condo, Mr. Dave (unknown details), had brought Miss Kai to sleep overnight in his room. Subsequently they had a serious quarrel, and Miss Kai had gone to the top of the building in an attempt to jump off, but the staff had managed to calm her down.

Then Mr. Dave ordered to the security guard to prevent Miss Kai coming back to his room. The following afternoon, Miss Kai had asked a security guard`to smuggle her into Mr. Dave’s room but she couldn’t find him. So she once again ran to the top of the building and threatened to jump.

The police assumed that Miss Kai was stressed out from her foreign boyfriend ( whom she had known for only a short time) not allowing her to meet him. Officers made sure she was calm and stable before releasing her to get on with her life.
