Disabled Man Sells Drugs As Toffees

Sattahip administrative officials arrested a disabled man who sold amphetamines that were stuffed in toffee packs in order to get money for his paralysis treatment.

SATTAHIP – January 25, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10.30 a.m., Mr. Parinya Photisat (Sattahip sheriff, Chon Buri province) together with Mr. Chawat Thepthap (Deputy District Chief of Security Division) and forces of Special Officers of Narcotics Suppression Center of Amphur Sattahip) cooperated to arrest Mr. Watchara or Ton Boonjit, aged 29, who was a lame man, with allegation of having type 1 drug in possession in violation of the law. He was arrested with 10 pills of amphetamines at an area near a motorbike taxi terminal at the beginning of Soi Thetsabarn 20, Tambon Samnakthon, Amphur Ban Chang, Rayong province.


Mr. Parinya Photisat (Sattahip sheriff) revealed that this arrest was due to the magnification of an outcome from investigating Mr. Anurak or Nueng Thawornphong, aged 39 (a drug agent who was arrested with 300 pills of amphetamines previously), which the officers perceived that Mr. Watchara (a defendant) was a customer and an agent of a drug network who had no inhibitions selling amphetamines to teenager groups near a motorbike taxi terminal. Therefore, forces of officers had decentralized to follow up him until they found Mr. Watchara then they showed up to arrest him which the officers found 10 pills of amphetamines were hidden in the toffee packs which he was concealing by sitting on them. Initially, Mr. Watchara confessed that he had sold amphetamines as his occupation for a long time because he wanted to earn money for his paralysis treatment.
