Deluxe Jomtien Resort Condos Selling Out Quickly

A major Bangkok developer has quickly presold half of the 82 units in its first housing project in Jomtien. “The Ville Jomtien” features three types of resort-style living units, each with a private pool. Prices for the 2- to 4-bedroom units range from 2.59 million to 5.9 million baht.

PATTAYA – January 31, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; A gala ceremony was held to launch the opening of “The Ville Jomtien,” by Habitat Five Co., Ltd., a well-known Bangkok developer. The company is spending 300 million baht to build the 82-unit complex in its first project in the Pattaya area.

Habitat Five spent the last 8 years caught up in Bangkok’s hot retail properties market, but it now seems like the ideal time to enter the robust Pattaya-Jomtien market, said Mr. Chanin Vanijwong, executive administrator of Habitat Five Co., Ltd. As managing director of the project, Mr. Chanin noted the high growth rate and real estate market in the area.

There was always a strong demand for housing from both Thai and foreign investors, and the Pattaya condo market is very competitive right now, he said. The company has responded with the Ville Jomtien project featuring a private pool with every housing unit. The complex is located in Pattaya Jomtien-Chaiyapruk 2 alongside the railway road.

There are 3 different types of housing units: the 2-bedroom Resort Villa with prices starting from 2.59 million; the 3-bedroom Pool Villa with prices starting from 4.99 million; and the 4-bedroom Grand Villa with prices starting from 5.99 million.

The market response was very positive, because the market demand for deluxe resort-style homes in Jomtien is very high in the major European countries, Mr. Chanin said. The Brits, Germans, and Scandinavians were targeted as the main buyers for the Jomtien project. The remaining buyers are mostly Thais who desire a second home.

There was great response when the company opened sales for the project in December, he said. In just two months, 50 percent of the units have already been presold. The company expects to close the sales for all the units within the second quarter of this year, and construction will start immediately. The project is estimated to be completed by the middle of next year.

The company is also studying other sites in Jomtien to develop another future housing project. If market demand remains strong, the company will keep building more projects, he said.
