After the notification the marine rescue team travelling by boat from the Pier of Bang Sare to the body, whose location was marked as a point by a reef on the south coast of Koh Lan Kwian island, the body was found floating in a bog.

The unidentified body was found floating in a bogg, by the investigating team lying naked, on his chest, on the south coast of Koh Lan Kwian, Sattahhip Bay. With a light patterned unicorn tattoo in the middle of his back as the skin of the body was sun burnt and dried out, barely sticking to his bones

The male body could not be identified so far, neither his nationality. The body had a tattoo in the middle of his back of a unicorn in a light pattern. On both of his wrists he had ‘takrud’ wristbands, which are wristbands with a roll of a religious amulet attached. On the left hand he had another dark blue wrist band. The body was lying naked on his chest. There were no wounds found that could indicate a struggle or fight. The body was established to have been dead for no more than 20 days.

Police Major Athon Jidtonthin said that it is assumed that the body is of Thai nationality due to his wristbands. The tattoo of the body has never been seen before, until they found the man floating on the bog. Mostly these people would be foreign, from Burma or Cambodia. A record file in the case of the discovery of the body will be kept, and citizens in the area will be asked for people missing. The body will be sent to a hospital lab for forensic investigation to establish the cause of death.
