General Situation
The moderate southwest monsoon still prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Scattered rain remains likely over the country, as well as isolated heavy rain in the upper North, the Northeast, the East and the Southwest coast. People especially in affected areas should beware of the severe condition due to prolonged collective rainfalls. The provinces include Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong and Phang-nga. The wind waves are expected about 2 meters high in the Andaman Sea, and all ships should proceed with caution.
Typhoon “HALONG” over the Pacific Ocean is forecast to move southern Japan. During 9-10 August, all travelers should check the weather forecast before departure for the areas. This storm has no effect on Thailand.
