Sunday 24th September 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: – On a recent Saturday evening guests filled the outdoor cocktail reception area around the Dusit-D2, which was nicely laid out as an outdoor restaurant.

The Attaché of the Czech Republic, The Hon Jiri VLK was accompanied by the Deputy Head of the Mission and other important officials from the Czech Republic. The Czech’s certainly knew how to entertain with their own traditional five piece band and some very tasty fruit based drinks. The most powerful was their “Becherovka“ Vodka, which they have been distilling since 1807.

As well as the diplomats and unique tastes of food and drink, the undisputed stars of the wine dinner celebration were five (over 2-metres) tall, leggy Czech models, who gave a stunning performance of displaying stylish Czech glass jewelry. These professional models expertly did some “quick change” routines in very rapid succession, which absolutely delighted the audience.

The “Director of the Czech JBX Promotion S.R.O. Group, Mr. Milan Kohout, also attended this function, so it is clear that the Czech Republic wants to become mot active in Thailand. Further possibilities are an increase in the number of tourists coming to Thailand, which is a “niche market” that has not been fully developed.
