Crazy Man Caught Red Handed After Trying To Steal A Car

A mentally disturbed man was arrested by the villagers after he tried to steal a car.

PATTAYA – January 9 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 16.00 pm Pol.Capt.Witsanu Chaisuwan-deputy inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified from villagers that they had restrained a man who tried to steal a car on 3rd Pattaya road. After notification the police officers rushed to inspect the scene.


At the crime scene, the villagers had restrained Mr.Suppachai Mapum aged 36, the thief. Mr.Opat Chinnabut aged 35 the car owner, identified the restrained man to the police who arrested him. The victim said that he was preparing things to go upcountry and he parked his car in front of his house. He didn’t lock the car but left the key in the car because he had to move in and out of the car. Later he noticed that the jardinière had fallen down, when he went to take a look why he found Mr.Suppachai was in the drivers seat trying to start the engine. He pulled him off before the man fought back and kicked and damaged the car. Fortunately the villagers spotted the incident before restraining him and notifying the police.


The police revealed that the officers had checked his data and found out that he was homeless and registered under the mental disorder act. He was known to stay along Pattaya beach, he had kicked and damaged many motorbikes in the past in order to steal belongings from them. Police officers prosecuted him according to Thai law.
