Crazed Man Kills Himself At Sriracha Police Station

A man possibly insane or high on drugs jumped from the roof of the 5-story Sriracha police station and killed himself. He had earlier asked the police to arrest him for killing people. But officers ignored him and told him to sit and relax. The man then went to the top of the building and shouted loudly before leaping off the roof.

SRIRACHA – December 9, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 4:30 p.m., while Pol. Maj. Col. Direk Pimma was working as the officer of the shift of Sriracha police station, he heard a noise of people shouting at the front of the station.

When he ran out to check what was happening, he saw a man lying in a pool of his blood on the cement in front of the building. The man had died from a broken neck and limbs. He looked about 30 years old, and was wearing a blue T-shirt and black trousers.

Police searched the man’s body, but did not find any documents identifying who he was. The police sent his body to Ao Udom hospital at Sawang prateep Thammasatharn in Sriracha for an autopsy.

Witnesses said that the man was walking back and forth in the police station at about 2:30 p.m. When the police eventually asked the man what he was doing, the man said that he came to surrender himself for killing other people. However, because the man was talking incoherently as if he was high on drugs, the police did not pay attention to him and told him to calm down.

But the man then disappeared, and was gone for too long. The police then noticed the man had taken off his shoes and left them at the desk of the public relation department, which they thought was very strange.

So the police went to look for him. Then an officer heard the sound of something big hitting the ground outside. So he ran outside and discovered that that the man had jumped from the roof of the 5-story building and died.

Pol. Col Tanith Thaiwatcharamas, director of Sriracha police station, commanded the detective police officers to investigate the man’s record and find out who he is, where he was from, and why he decided to die at the police station.

A senior police officer asked the press not to report this news, because this was a government office that is supposed to have more security to prevent people from trespassing.

Because the crazy man had gone into the police building up to the roof without being noticed, the police can be considered as careless and impaired, he said. But since it was Sunday, there were few police officers to notice trespassers, he added.

As for the motives of the suicidal man, the police commander speculated that perhaps the disturbed man had been very stressed, and he tried to release his stress by asking to be arrested so he would get help. But no one paid attention to him since he appeared to be crazy, so he might have felt like he wanted to die. So he went to the rooftop and jumped off.
