PATTAYA – October 24, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: the capture of a trio of pickpocketing thieves was reported to Pol. Lt. Col. Kiattisak Srathong-oi, the vice director of suppression division, Muang Pattaya police station Chonburi.

Making the report was Pol. Maj. Col. fem. Thawalrat Laowibul, vice inspector of suppression division, who said she had assisted police volunteers with detaining the three suspects. The trio was nabbed pickpocketing a tourist while riding on the pick-up minibus at the front entrance of Pattaya city walk, Pattaya route 2, south Pattaya.
The suspects and the victim were brought to the police station.

The three suspects were identified as Mr. Bansha Yosyingyong, age 26; Ms. Darunee Boonkerd, age 49; and Ms. Sunet Kheaosa-ard, age 45. The victim was identified as Mr. Malcolm M. Bashi, age 68.

Police did a body search of Mr. Bansha, and found a wallet with 372 dollars in American cash, and 4,820 in Thai baht notes. Mr. Malcolm identified his stolen wallet and its contents, but told police that there were six 100 U.S. dollars bills missing.

The police pressured Mr. Bansha, and he confessed that he dropped one of the bills under the sofa in the room, but he did not know where the rest of the missing money was.

Then the police questioned Mrs. Darunee and Mrs. Sunet, but they both claimed not to know where the missing money was either. So the police conducted body searches of both women. Police then found the five missing bank notes hidden in the genital area of Ms. Darunee, whose face became pale with fear after being cornered with the evidence.

Pol. Lt. Col. Kiattisak said that the gang had previously been arrested many times, so police had them under surveillance ever since their release from jail. The police had been secretly following their movements all the time.

On the afternoon of the latest incident, a police spy had been tailing the trio. The police agent followed the suspects as they got on the minibus at Grand condo junction, Jomthian route 2, crossing Tepprasit Rd. The suspects then picked Mr. Malcolm’s pocket in front of the spy’s eyes, so he notified the police to make the arrest.
