Commander-In-Chief Of Royal Thai Navy Presides Over 2007 Navy Sports Week

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy Admiral presided over the ceremony of 2007 navy sports event at Sport Stadium, Sattahip Naval Base.

On November 2007, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy Admiral Sathirapan Keyanon presided over the ceremony of 2007 internal navy sports event at Sport Stadium, Sattahip Naval Base, Sattahip district, Chonburi province. Commemorative plaques were given to senior sportsmen, best sportsmen and sportswomen. Commemorative jackets were given to the recognized sportsmen who have brought great praise and honor to navy sports. The objectives of the event were to strengthen members’ excellent health, achieve unity, maintain order, and oneness, promote unison, and foster complete harmony among the members. This event was also held to raise the navy sport standard to be on a par with international ones. In addition, this is also another occasion where they can select the right fine- quality sportsmen and sportswomen for the Royal Thai Army Sports event.

This year, the Royal Thai Navy has assigned Sattahip Naval Base, represented by vice admiral Sriwisut Rataroon, commander of Sattahip Naval Base to host the event. 17 sport units participated into this event. 30 types of sports will be played. Among them are soccer, rugby, basketball, volleyball, aerobic, swimming, water polo, boxing, navy sports, track and field, sailing, windsurf orienteering, and military sports.

This year, many representative units have joined the parade to celebrate the King’s . Among those were Sattahip municipality, Naval Strategy Unit, Sattahip Naval Base, Mahidol Adulyadej Royal Navy, PTT Public Company Ltd., etc., and the internal naval unit was the last to march along with parade in order to salute the president of the ceremony. The final soccer match was held and medals were given to winners.
