City Hall to Solve Tour Operator ProblemsPattaya officials have discussed the problems which are being caused by tour operators who deal with Chinese and Indian tourists along beach road.
PATTAYA – June 26,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; Mr.Ronnakit Aekasing- deputy mayor of Pattaya- chaired a conference about setting a good image of Pattaya at Pattaya city Hall. The conference focused on tour operators who take passengers to Koh Lan island.
Previously, the officials had been continuously complained to from beach operators that tour operators always took their customers along the beach at 17 different points but they where only being picked up and never went onto the beach causing traffic congestion.
In addition the tour operators had installed stalls along the footpath selling umbrellas and posters to their customers.
In the conference the concerned members agreed that the officials needed to control the situation by disallowing buses of the operators to drive along beach road including big trucks with more than 6 wheels too. Also they needed to stop the buses double parking which causes traffic congestion and the marine department needed to obey the rules by only picking up passengers from South Pattaya pier. The officials added that they intended to turn the footpath on Atthajinda road and the road under South Pattaya overpass bridge into a bus car park.
