SRIRACHA – August 31, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 5 p.m., three Chonburi Institute of Technology students came to report an assault to Pol. Lt. Col. Soponwit Mitprapan, the officer of the shift, Sriracha police station.

The three students, all age18, did not want to publicly disclose their names. They are second year-students in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Chonburi Institute of Technology.

The incident occurred while the three were riding together on one motorcycle, a light-blue Yamaha Fino, registration code Jor Kor Yor 799Chonburi.

As they were riding home in Banglamung and passed Sriracha, they encountered a big group of male students riding motorcycles. They were wearing the shirts of the Lamchabang Institute of Technology, and riding more than 10 motorcycles.

When the Lamchabang motorbikers saw the Chonburi students, they began attacking them, using wooden bats and iron rulers to hit them. They began chasing the three on their motorbikes to keep beating them.

Because the three fleeing students were stacked together riding on one motorcycle, they could not easily escape. The Chonburi students lost control of their motorcycle, which collided with another motorbike driver.

The collision sent the three boys tumbling to the ground. They suffered injuries that included a head wound, black-and-blue bruises on their bodies, and a bloody gash on the buttocks.

After witnessing the accident, the Lamchabang IT students quickly fled. The injured boys then came to the police to report the assault.

They told police that bad feelings had begun between the schools after someone had sprayed paint on Lamchabang IT’s school wall. Lamchabang students got angry, and they assumed the vandals must have been Chonburi IT students from the Electronic Engineering Department.

The Lamchabang students then posted a threat on Facebook that if they found the bad guys, they would get revenge.

The three injured Chonburi student told police that they also remember the faces of the students who had attacked them. Police will follow up to track the gang members involved to prosecute under the law.
