Chonburi attraction club launches new visa discount card scheme

Chonburi Attraction Club is inaugurating for the third year a special discount scheme aimed at tourists in general. At Pattaya City Hall on 29th January at 2 pm, a committee meeting was held involving the following officials: Messrs. Monthien Thongrit, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province, Pinij Ratchawat, Assistant District Administrator, Niran Wattenasasatorn, the Mayor of Pattaya City, Police officer Chaiwat Deputy Head of the Thai Tourist Authority, the controller of the central Thai region, and Dr. Pichai Sarnchaeng, Chairman of the Chonburi Organisation for Promoting Tourism.

Dr. Pichai stated that Chonburi is a province with many tourist attractions, and sufficient facilities to provide a service for tourists, both Thai and foreign. He was eager to enlist the aid of the commercial and private sector in the exploitation of Tourism within the Chonburi provincial area. This could occur through the interco-operation and exchange of ideas at suitable forums organized for the purpose.

The committee will monitor problems and the general state of tourism in the Chonburi provincial area. Associate members include the Institute of Underwater Scientists, Nong Nooch Gardens, Khao Khiew Zoo, Sri Racha Tiger Zoo, Chonburi Flying Club, the Million Years Stone Park and Crocodile Farm, the World Gems Collection, Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth, and the Underwater World of Pattaya, Mini Siam, and Ripleys.

The committee is keen to promote the tourist discount card costing 100 Baht which will allow substantial savings of between 20 and 50% at 25 tourist attractions around Chonburi Province to be made by its participating subscribers. The card can be obtained from any of the venues of the associate members listed above, the Tourist Authority of Thailand in Pattaya and also the TAT centre in Bangkok.
