Chinese Tourist Fights BackA Chinese tourist who was walking back to her hotel with her boyfriend was attacked by 2 snatchers who tried to take her hand bag. She fought back and the snatchers fled empty handed.
PATTAYA – April 23,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10.00 p.m. Pol.Maj. Ekkachai Moonlee (Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province) was notified that a female foreign tourist had her bag snatched and was injured during the incident . The incident occurred at the beginning of Soi Burana, north Pattaya road, Moo 5 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province, therefore, Pol. Ekkachai and a police team rushed to inspect scene where they found a female Chinese tourist who was identified as Miss Rong Danyi, aged 33, she had many scratches and wounds all over her body and was standing with Mr. Charlie Wang, aged 48 with her hand bag.
Upon questioning the victim, she told the police that while she was walking back to her hotel with her boyfriend when all of a sudden the 2 attackers who were riding a motorbike followed them and tried to snatch her handbag violently which caused her to fall over causing her injuries but she quickly stood up and fought back and they fled empty handed.
An eyewitnesses revealed that they heard the victim shouting for help so they rushed to see what was happening and saw 1 of the 2 attackers was yanking the victim’s handbag so they ran over to help to help and the attackers quickly fled along north Pattaya road.
There was also a news report last week that 2 snatchers had targeted Chinese tourists along the same road and a victim had her passport taken and was unable to travel home the following day. The police assumed that they might be the same snatcher gang. Moreover the Chinese victims pleaded with the police to perform stricter inspections in the incident areas to prevent this type of incident happening again.
