Car Collides with Trailer and Bursts into Flames

A Thai man who was over taking a car lost control and collided with a parked trailer. The car burst into flames totally destroying it but the driver escaped unharmed.

PATTAYA – May 4, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2.30 a.m.; the rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Foundation, Pattaya city, Chonburi Province, were notified that there was an accident involving a car which lost control and collided with a trailer and burst into flames. Incident occurred on road no. 36, Pattaya – Rayong bypass route, near the U-turn point of Khao Mai Kaew grade separation, Tambon Pong, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi Province, so they rushed to inspect the scene and coordinated with Tambon Pong Municipality to ask for a fire engine.

At the incident the officers found a bronze-grey Toyota Altis car, Bangkok license plate, which was parked in the right lane and was on fire, it took the fire brigade 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. After inspecting the damage there was nobody inside the car and the trailer which the car had collided with license number 82-2447 Rayong which belongs to Siam Steel Sheets Engineering Co., Ltd., was slightly damaged by the fire.

Upon questioning the car driver a Thai man, aged approximately 35-40 (didn’t reveal his name and surname), he told police that before the incident occurred he had gone to a party with a local politician in Rayong province. After the party had finished he had to run an errand in Amphur Sri Racha and when he arrived at the incident point he tried to overtake a car which was in front of him and lost control and collided with the parked trailer, his car then burst into flames but he managed to get out and wasn’t injured.

Initially, the police collected all the evidence at the incident point and will investigate both of the 2 drivers (the car and the trailer) in order to take legal action further according to Thai law.
