Car Burnt Due To Gas Leak In Pattaya

A chef who was setting up 2 gas tanks in front of a bistro in Pattaya accidentally set a car on fire after one of the gas pipes came off one of the gas tanks.

PATTAYA – August 31, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 07.30 am Pol.Capt.Krittha Pratumkaew-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station-was notified that a car was on fire in car park in Niran Grand Condotel, Central Pattaya. After notification the police and fire-fighters rushed to the scene.


At the scene in front of the Pudthai restaurant, the officers found a Toyota Camry that had been burnt on the right side. Fortunately some people used a fire extinguisher to extinguish before the fire fighters arrived. Mr.Pongsak Ketboonnak aged 37 was the car owner.


Gas Gas


Upon questioning Mr.Pongsak he said that he had borrowed the car from his friend and parked it in front of the restaurant before going to his room. Later someone knocked his room door and shouted that the car was on fire.


An eye witness revealed that before the incident occurred Mrs.Lawet Sunthornsin a 43 year old chef took 2 gas tanks and set them up in front of the bistro. While she was lighting the gas one of the line connectors accidentally came unplugged which caused a flame to shoot out and burn the car.


However the police officers had taken pictures and recorded the incident as the evidence before taking both sides to police station so that they can negotiate about the damaged cost.
