Cambodian Workers Arrested After Slitting Colleague’s Throat

The police have arrested 3 Cambodian workers who slit the throat of their senior colleague. The murderers confessed that they murdered him in revenge after being threatened by him.

CHONBURI – February 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10.00 a.m. Pol. Maj. Gen. Katcha Thartsart (Commander of Chonburi provincial police station), Pol. Lt. Col. Thanadech Duangtapiyachai (Investigation police of Nong Prue police station, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province), Pol. Lt. Col. Khongsak Boonsue-suwan (Deputy Superintendent), Pol. Maj. Natthakorn Mongkholmaha (Inspector), Pol. Capt. Kornphong Sukvisit (Deputy Inspector), Pol. Sub. Lt. Chenyuth Sri-u-dornthonthorn (Deputy Inspector) together with the detective police team made a statement about the arrest of 3 defendants that together killed Mr. Kha Ean which consisted of Mr. Saen Nidchai, aged 31, Mr. Pom, aged 23 and Mr. Lee Soklee, aged 33,all of the 3 defendants were the Cambodians.

They were arrested with the exhibits of 1 knife and the clothes that they wore during the incident.

Upon questioning Mr. Pom he confessed that at around 10.00 p.m. on February 7, 2014 he and Mr. Kha Ean (the deceased) together Thai and Cambodian workers sat drinking alcohol in front of Mr. Lee’s rented room which was near the workers camp of The Wilyard village. Whilst drinking Mr. Kha Ean threatened the 3 murderers and not to contradict him because he was older than them so Mr. Pom slapped his head 1 time but Mr. Kha Ean threatened them that he will call his friends to beat them up. Therefore, Mr. Pom together with Mr. Saen and Mr. Lee attacked him until he was unconscious then dragged him into the grove and Mr. Pom used a knife to slit his throat killing him. Mr. Pom and Mr. Saen fled the scene to hide with their friends in the other workers but were arrested by police.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Katcha revealed that after upon questioning a Mr. Surin Sao-yong, aged 39, a Thai construction worker who was drinking with the group told the police that the murderers were Mr. Pom, Mr. Saen and Mr. Lee so Pol. Maj. Gen. Katcha mobilized forces to arrest them.. However, the police charged the 3 defendants with the allegations of entering into the country illegally and murder then sent them to the investigation officer to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
