Cambodian Worker Kidnapped And Assaulted In Pattaya

A 51 year old Cambodian worker was kidnapped and assaulted by 3 thugs after he criticised his ex-employer on Facebook.

PATTAYA – February 12,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 3.30 a.m., Pol.Col. Thitiwat Boon-orn (Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station, Dong Tarn Curve Sub-branch, Chon Buri province) was notified that some Thai men had taken a Cambodian man by car from the Pirate Beach Bar on Jomtian beach, Moo 12 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province.

 

Initially, the police questioned the victim’s employer and then searched for him. They finally found him in the woods behind the B2 Hotel, Moo 1 Tambon Na Jomtian, Amphur Sattahip, Chon Buri province and was crying in pain. He was identified as Mr. Win, aged 51, from Cambodian who worked at the incident bar. He was badly bruised and had many contused wounds from being assaulted all over his body.

 

Upon questioning Mr. Win he told police that before incident occurred he was working as normal in the bar when 3 Thai men walked in and dragged him out into a white car. Then they drove to a deserted area were they dragged him into the woods and assaulted before quickly fleeing the scene. Mr. Win said that they might be some underlings of his ex-employer who owns a Thai barbeque pork shop where he worked before and was sacked 2 months ago. He told police that he had put comments on Facebook about his ex-employer and while he was in the car one of the attackers said “ Don’t Be So Abusive!” which made him think that they were linked to his ex-employer. Initially, the police sent him for a physical examination at the hospital before they question him further so they can arrest the attackers and prosecute them further according to the Thai law.
