Cambodian Worker Found Dead

A Cambodian worker has been found dead in woods the day after the police were called to the camp to stop a big fight between 2 groups of workers who had attacked each other with knives and pieces of wood.

SATTAHIP – March 26,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 6.30 a.m., Pol.Lt. Niphon Nonkluea (Inquiry official of Na Jomtian police station) was notified that there was a body of a foreign man found in the woods approximately 500 meters away from the Cambodian construction workers camp where the night before there was a big fight between the workers. Therefore, Pol.Lt. Niphon Nonkluea rushed to inspect the scene together with Pol.Col. Chutidech Jansong (Superintendent), Pol.Lt.Col. Chitdecha Songhong (Deputy Superintendent), detective police team and the rescue team of Sawang Rojjana Tharmma Satharn Sattahip Rescue Foundation.

At the scene the officers found the body of Mr. Wan, aged 31. He had 2 severe wounds to his head. His lower left arm was broken and there were a lot of cuts all over his body. The officers assumed that he had been dead for 6-7 hours.

Initially, the police assumed that it was linked to the fight the night before where 2 groups of Cambodians had attacked each other with knives and pieces of wood. Later the police of Na Jom Tian police station detained both groups for further investigation but where not releasing any information to the press.
