SATTAHIP – July 17, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 4 a.m., Pol. Lt. Capt. Saijai Kamjula, officer on duty of investigation division, Sattahip police station, Chonburi, received a report from the Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Ruaysap Rakitsara, head of security of Samaesarn, Sattahip, Chonburi, that a Burmese crewman from a boat was stabbed to death. The rescue team had sent his body to Sawang Rojanathammasathan Sattahip, so the police officer went to check.

An examination was conducted of the dead crewman, an unidentified Burmese, about 30 years old, dark-skinned with short hair. On his left shoulder was a tattoo of buffalo horns. He was shirtless, wearing light blue fisherman pants. He had been stabbed a total of 13 times by a “hand scraper,” which resembles an ice-pick with a long sharp blade. Large amounts of blood had flowed from wounds on his body, including his left chest, breast, left arm and back.

Pol. Lt. Capt. Saijai Kamjula described the incident after his investigation. He said the victim had been drinking in a karaoke bar about 500 meters from the security station. He got into a quarrel with his rival, a Cambodian man, so he came out of the bar, where he was repeatedly stabbed. He ran for help to the security office, but later died while being transported to the hospital.

His body has been sent for an autopsy at a Sattahip hospital 10 km away. A police investigation team was also dispatched to track down the Cambodian who stabbed the victim.
