Cambodian Beggars Rounded Up

Pattaya officers have rounded up 14 Cambodian beggars after they were informed that they were begging on the streets.

PATTAYA – July 9,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; Mr Witthanapat Rattanawaleepong- chief of the project to stop child begging was notified that there were lots of people begging in Pattaya. After notification he notified the Pattaya tourism police to inspect.

 

The officers found 14 Cambodian beggars consisting of 8 adults and 6 children; they were then taken to Pattaya police station for questioning. They reveal that they had illegally entered Thailand via the border at Aranyaprated border in Srakaew province so they could come to Pattaya to beg.

 

However, the police prosecuted them for illegal entry before sending them back to their home country.
