Café Owner Arrested for Human Trafficking in Pattaya

A café owner has been arrested for human trafficking. The police also seized his property including 2 cars and over 1,000,000 THB in cash.

PATTAYA – June 15, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 19.00 pm. Pol.Maj.Gen.Sanit Mahathaworn-deputy commander-, Pol.Col.Thammanoon Munkong-superintendent of Bang Lamung police station-, Mr.Adisorn Kitbamrung-detective from AMLO (Anti-Money Laundering Office)-, made a statement about the arrest of Mr.Damrongsak (Joe) Rakyart aged 44 who was being hunted by Pattaya court in act of human trafficking. He was caught with 11 guns and 977 bullets. Therefore the police confiscated his property which consisted of 9 passbooks, 2 credit cards, a deed, computer, gold ornament, 2 cars and 1,000,000 baht.

 

Pol.Maj.Gen.Sanit revealed that the police had previously investigated Mr.Damrongsak who had taken girls to be prostitutes in the Super Star Café therefore they asked the court for an order before the police raided his café and house. In addition the police had confiscated a large number of his property. However the police prosecuted him in act of human trafficking, opening an entertainment venue without permit and employing under staff.

In addition Pol.Maj.Gen.Sanit added that the police also caught Mr.Jate Rongsamlee aged 28 and Mr.Nimit (Pong) Nintirat aged 23 who were drugs dealers who were caught with 100 amphetamine pills. Also a group of 13 dice game gamblers, a group of 6 cockfighting gamblers and a large number of drug dealers during the criminal clamp down from the 11th -15th of June.
