
Burmese Boat BossTurns Murderous On Meth
A Burmese boat crew chief high on meth fatally bashed a crewmember in the head, and dumped his body in the ocean. The crew had been drinking together after work, but crewmembers said their boss seemed high on meth, and then he went insane and killed their co-worker.SATTAHIP – December 21, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2 p.m., a report of a murder aboard a boat and a body being dumped in the sea was received by Pol. Lt. Capt. Nares Boontee, detective officer of Sattahip police station.
He went to check the scene with director Pol. Col. Chanapat Nawalak; Pol. Lt. Col. Prakorb Sangpring, vice director of suppression division; Pol. Lt. Col. Nopong Pomsanam, vice director of detective division; police detectives; and divers and rescuers from Sawang Rojanathammasathan foundation Sattahip.
The incident occurred in a fishing boat named the Samut 17 docked at the Suwit fishing harbor in Sattahip. Police arrived at the scene at the end of the bridge.
They searched the boat and found food and bottles of 30-proof alcohol. They also found long traces of blood stains on the deck leading to the tail of the boat. In the ocean at the end of the boat, police discovered a man’s body that was submerged at a depth of 4 meters. Divers retrieved the body.
The victim was wearing only black shorts. He had a black-and-blue bruise on his right eyebrow, as if hit by a hard object. He was identified as Mr. Tansoh, 31 years old, Burmese, one of the crew members.
The police sent his body to Sattahip Km10 hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The police arrested a suspect, identified as Mr. Su Inong, 32 years old, Burmese, the chief of the boat.
Police questioned the boat’s 6 crew members They said they were drinking alcohol together in the boat, but their chief was acting like he got high from meth. The crew chief then appeared to go insane, and snatched a steel rod and hit Mr. Tansoh on the head, killing him. The chief then threw his body into the water to hide the corpse.
Mr. Su had been trying to escape the scene when he was arrested by police. After his arrest, Mr. Su denied killing his crew member, but he admitted that he had used meth.
