Sattahip, 14 December 2010 (PDN): At 8.00 am on Tuesday Sattahip Police Investigator, Captain Bandit Techawong, was notified by American national Mr. Louie Eldridge Wear [67] that he had been burgled at his house at 121/71, Sunisa1, Moo8, Bangsarey, Sattahip. Police and forensic officers were dispatched to investigate.

On their arrival, at the detached, one storey house located in the middle of the village, officers found a distraught Mr. Wear who told police that he assumed the burglars had come while he was asleep at about 5.30 am.

Signs of the burglars’ footprints were found on the fence and they had used a heavy object to break a window to enter the house. They had stolen several items in the living room including 2 HP computer notebooks, 2 Canon digital cameras and a Samsung digital camera. From the bedroom another two DEL notebooks were missing. The total value of the stolen items was around 200,000 baht.
It is believed that 2 people were involved in the burglary and fingerprints were taken at the scene in the hope of identifying the perpetrators.

Mr. Wear’s neighbour, Miss Siriphorn Kriangkraiphet [50], said that the village residents were mainly foreigners, and burglaries were so commonplace that many had already moved away. She herself had been robbed on several occasions, and she had now given up telling the police because nothing was ever done to find the criminals.
