BURBANK (September 1, 2006) – “He came over to my house, and he gave me a heartfelt apology,” said Shields. “And through it all, I was so impressed with how heartfelt it was. And I didn‘t feel at any time that I had to defend myself, nor did I feel that he was trying to convince me of anything other than the fact that he was deeply sorry. And I accepted it.”

Shields will guest star as sex therapist “Cindy Plum,” who falls in love with “Dr. Christian Troy” (Julian McMahon), in the upcoming fourth season of “Nip/Tuck,” premiering Tuesday, September 5, on FX. Recently, Shields chronicled her experiences with depression after childbirth in the best-selling book “Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression.”

Jerome Bettis of NBC‘s “Sunday Night Football” and musical guest Foo Fighters also appeared on the show.

“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” is from Big Dog Productions in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Debbie Vickers is the executive producer. “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” airs Monday – Friday at 11:35pm (EST) on NBC.
