British Man With A Disability Drowned To Death In A House

A foreign man with a disability drowned to death in a swimming pool in his own house.

PATTAYA – December 21,2014[Pattaya Daily News]; at 16.30 pm Pol.Maj.Chaliew Boonkhum-inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that a foreigner had drowned to death in a house. After notification the police officers and rescue team immediately attended the scene.

 

At the scene was a single house with a swimming pool and the officials found Mr.Nicholas Morton Smith aged 58 from England lying in the swimming pool. Upon inspecting the deceased they found bruising to his head however, there was no evidence of foul play.

 

Upon questioning Mrs.Piew Chaipan 57 year old his wife, revealed that she had been attending a business meeting in Bangkok since Friday and her husband often stayed home alone. Also Mr.Boonchan Taitaisong aged 60 was at the house as he carrying out some painting to the house each day. Mr.Nicholas was a disabled person but he could look after himself and he liked to swim often in his pool.

Mr.Boonchan said that on 21 December at 14.00 pm he was painting the wall and he saw Mr.Boonchan was swimming and they talked together for a while before he returned back to his work. Later Mrs.Piew came back home and shouted for help because MR.Nicolas has drowned to death in the swimming pool.

 

Initially the officials took pictures as evidence and recorded the incident. It’s expected that he died due to drowning to death in his pool as a result of his disability.
