British Man Attacked With Stun Gun

A British man who tried to intervene with a couple who were arguing was attacked with a stun gun.

PATTAYA- January 31, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 01.00 am Pol.Lt.Sombat Kaewmoonsuk-inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that some foreigners were arguing and had been fighting with each other. The incident took place near the CHILL OUT GUESTHOUSE so the police officers immediately rushed to inspect the scene.

 

At the scene they found MR.PHILLIP JOSEPH STEVENS a 66 year old British man waiting for the police and he had wounds on his elbow, scratches to his hands and bruises on his face.

 

Upon questioning Mr.Phillip he said that he witnessed a Thai girl who was arguing with a foreigner in front of the guest house then he decided to intervened because the foreign man tried to hit the girl. The foreign man then tried to attack him before another man shocked him with a stun gun.

 

Later the officers summoned the attacker who was the guesthouse owner who was identified as MR.BARRY EDWARD a 66 year old Australian. Initially, he confessed that he had argued with his Thai wife then Mr.Phillip intervened before they all argued and attacked to each other. He claimed that he just shocked him to protect himself.

 

However, the officers sent Mr.Phillip to hospital before questioning them all later in order to find out the truth.
