For the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand’s (BCCT) big pre-Christmas party, the serene setting at the Horseshoe Point Resort & Country Club was the best that there is around Pattaya.

Pattaya, the 21st of November 2009, [Pattaya Daily News]: The BCCT invited members and friends to this prestigious party that was situated slightly off the Siam Country Club Road near east Pattaya’s Lake Mabprachan in Horseshoe Point’s sand field area. As expected, the food that they supplied was of the highest international quality, and drinks were sponsored by “Pernod-Ricard ,” which is a huge world wide liquor manufacturing & distribution company.

In the twilight of a serene evening, everything had been laid out to absolute perfection with other sponsors such as the Siam Country Club Golf Course Group also having display stands. The staff at Horseshoe Point got in on the action with some dressed as US Marines, the ladies in their “old world” European costumes looking stunning, and the stately Portuguese Lusitanian horses with their riders in traditional costume that took you into another world of chivalry & 17th century history.

As a welcome change from indoor events, there was plenty of room to sit, walk around, inspect the delicious big buffet tables, or just relax and listen to the top class band. Nearby balloonists inflated a big hot air balloon, but it may not have been for a night time flight, but maybe to promote the upcoming four day International Balloon Festival, which will be held in the area at the Thamasat University from 10 – 13th December.

British Chamber of Commerce Thailand’s Director, Mr. Brett Gannaway, stated – “While membership had been static throughout the year, the last two month has seen an increase in our BCCT membership.” He went on to say that results of their recent satisfaction survey were positive, but they were going to improve communication methods with the BCCT members. “We have decided to re-vamp some events, and hold four very major events each year,” he added. With the guidance of long time office bearer Mr. Graham MacDonald, the BCCT seems to have no difficulty in finding very high quality speakers, with Khun Kiat, who is an advisor to the Thai Government being listed as a speaker in the near future.

There was no shortage of entertainment with plenty of raffle prizes to be won and the at the Singha beer drinking contest, local singing entertainer M/s Harpic, proved that she was just as good as the men. Plenty of good guest speakers, and walk around interviews with well known local business ladies and businessmen, kept everyone’s interest high. This latest Eastern Seaboard Networking evening may not have been the biggest ever in terms of attendance, but it certainly stands out as one of the best ever BCCT events
