On March 10, 2002, Jolie adopted her first child, Cambodian-born Maddox , followed by Ethiopian-born,Zahara on July 6, 2005. So Pitt legally adopted the two kids after he and Jolie became a couple. They also had their first biological child Shiloh Nouvel in May. On January 19, 2006, a judge in California approved this request. The children’s legal surnames were formally changed to “Jolie-Pitt”.

Unlike many parents, he doesn’t feel burdened or stressed out by his kids: “It makes you more efficient because you do everything faster. There’s no time for messing around. I still value the work I do but at the same time I value more getting home to the kids. It somehow makes my work mean more because I know somewhere down the road that my kids will see it.”

Since becoming a family man, Pitt also talks about the personal changes: “In my younger days I was more of a drifter. I’d try many things – I’d try anything. But now there’s a real pride in understanding myself and what’s important to me and my own values.”

The top rated actor is also aware of the vanity trap their celebrity status poses: “We are treated like something special and it’s easy to start thinking you really are special. It’s a dead-end personally. I’m put on this pedestal. I have to be careful not to buy into that image.”

The couple also makes huge support payouts to charities. The glamour couple have both donated one million dollars to the humanitarian organizations Global Action for Children and Medecins sans Frontieres/ Doctors Without Borders last month. Last year Jolie contributed 500,000 dollars toward the opening of the National Centre for Refugee and Immigrant Children in Washington and pledged up to 5 million dollars over the next 15 years to set up a wildlife refuge in her son Maddox’s native land of Cambodia.
