PATTAYA – June 5, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 02.00 am Pol.Lt.Col.Issaranuwat Jongapichaikul-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that 5 bombs were found in the woods next to Jomtien Saisong road near Jomtien fishing park. After notification the police immediately rushed to the scene with EOD (The Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team.

At the scene they found 5 bombs contained in a cardboard box in the bushes next to Jomtien Saisong road. The bombs were identified as a M26, a M67, 2 MK2 and a M34 and all of them were in working order. The officers then closed the road so that EOD team could dispose of them.

Upon questioning people nearby they told police that they had no idea who left them there. It’s expected that the owners left them in the woods to hide them after the NPOMC had announced to intensify on clamping down on weapons by searching suspect vehicles. In addition Pol.Maj.Gen.Sanit Mahathaworn had ordered the team to seal off the crime scene so it can be investigated further.
