On 19 November 2007, at 5:45pm, Sattahip Investigator, Police Lieutenant Colonel Phadungsak Sue-gamnurd, Chonburi, was notified by Mr. Niran Bamroongbaan, Deputy Chairman of Samae-sarn District Management, Sattahip, of the body of a dead man, lying face down, in the woods about twenty meters off Samae-sarn Pattana Road, Moo 4, Sattahip. The man was clad in a flower patterned shirt, but was naked from the waist down.
Superintendent Police Colonel Suphathee Boonkrong, Crime Suppression Inspector Police Lieutenant Colonel Sutham Chaosithong, Investigator Police Major Wanchai Thumthong, and a police team, along with Sawangrojanatham, Sattahip, rushed to investigate. At the scene, officials found a dead man, with a shaved head and, naked from the waist down, lying face down. From the condition of the body and a foul odor in the area, police estimated that the man had been dead for fifteen to twenty days. Area residents could not identify the man and no missing person’s report had been filed.

Officials inspected the area and found gray trousers and a yellow, checkered jacket that had a hole in it which appeared to have been caused by a gunshot to the back of the jacket. In addition, there was a red, checkered blanket next to the body. Officials were unable to determine if the deceased man was Thai or foreign. The body was taken to Sattahip Hospital for examination.

Police Colonel Suphathee speculated that the deceased man was, possibly, a Thai who had recently left the monk-hood, as his head had been shaved. It was also noted that his teeth were crooked. Officials do not believe that the man was a foreign worker or a fisherman, as they usually have long hair and would be unlikely to have shaven their heads. Officials will continue to investigate the incident and attempt to locate the man’s relatives. If anybody is aware of a missing person, they are requested to report to the Sattahip Police Station.
