Bizarre Christian Militia Group Wages War Against The US

A radical US Christian militia group, the Hutaree, or "Christian warriors" have been arrested, charged with conspiracy to wage war against the US, in preparation, the group stated on its website, to counter the Anti-Christ “in the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive".

March 30, 2010, [Pattaya Daily News] a nine-man team, eight men and one woman, alleged members of a radical US Christian militia group, were arrested in a series of swoops by the FBI across Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, over the weekend and on Monday, March 29. The group is alleged to have hatched a plot to kill a policeman and thus entice considerably more to the inevitable funeral, where they intended to slaughter the assembled mourners, using landmines and roadside bombs, sometime during this coming April. The arrests have dealt “a severe blow to a dangerous organization that today stands accused of conspiring to levy war against the United States,” Attorney General Eric Holder is reported to have said.

The group practiced military exercises, shown on their website. The ringleaders,  David Brian Stone, aka “Captain Hutaree,” 44, of Clayton, Mich., and one of his sons, were also named on the website.  Other members were assigned secret names, and  ranks ranged from “radoks” to “gunners”.  “It started out as a Christian thing. You go to church. You pray. You take care of your family. I think David started to take it a little too far.” Stone’s ex-wife, Donna Stone, told The Associated Press.

Prosecutors assert that David Stone had targeted certain local law enforcement officers. The plan apparently called for a fake 911 call to entice a police officer to his death, killing an officer after a traffic stop, or attacking the family of an officer as the catalyst ,and subsequently bombing those who came to the funeral, after which the militant group intended to fall back to pre-pared  “rally points” protected by trip-wired explosives for a violent confrontation with the police.

The prosecutor’s indictment stated “It is believed by the Hutaree that this engagement would then serve as a catalyst for a more widespread uprising against the government.” On the group website there are several Biblical quotes as well as their mission statement, namely “We believe that one day, as prophecy says, there will be an Anti-Christ. … Jesus wanted us to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment.”

David Cid, executive director of the Oklahoma City-based Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, in an attempt to provide an explanation for the group’s bizarre behaviour stated domestic militancy was on the increase, fueled by anti-government sentiment provoked by ‘issues like eminent domain and immigration, and apparently national health care in some quarters.”

It has also been reported that some returning US war veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, holding the same resentful sentiments as the previous Vietnam vets towards having been sent out to fight in essentially fruitless wars have taken to the backwoods deep in the American countryside where they also practice paramilitary exercises in preparation for a war against the authorities. There are apparently among them some convinced of a grand conspiracy of unnamed forces concealed behind and above the government whose cynical agenda is to annihilate a substantial proportion of mankind, either in or after the final confrontation – Armageddon- as the final enactment of a grand plan originally conceived in Sumer over 3500 or more years ago.
