Big Vegetarian Festival Coming To Sriracha

Buddhist foundation Sawang Prateep Dhamma Sriracha is preparing to set up a big vegetarian festival to show respect to H.M. King Bhumiphol on his 84 th birthday.

Pattaya, September 12, 2011[Pattaya Daily News]; The Buddhist foundation Sawang Prateep Dhamma Sriracha in Sriracha and Mr Chatchai Kamjornkijjakarn, president of the foundation and the organising committee of the vegetarian festival 2011. This year’s event runs from September 26 until October 6, 2011.

On September 26 at 14: 30 there will be a ceremony for the blessing of the holy spirit Koh Loi Sriracha and at 17:00 October 2, 2011 the grand opening ceremony of vegetarian festival will take place presided by Mr Sukumol Kunplome, Cultural Minister.

There will be fried noodles a la Mongkol Great Emperor, the biggest pan in the world, to be served to all the people that come to attend ceremony, free of charge. After that there a candle lighting ceremony to bless the H.M. King Bhumiphol followed by many exciting shows in the Chinese sound & light style. The total budget for the festival is about two million THB, setting up the Rong Che and including the free food for 10 days.

Mr Chatchai Kamjornkijjakarn together with the foundation committee also donated money for people who were devastated by the fire in Chalong market and the surrounding community on September 8, 2011 all together nine families. Each family will receive 20,000 THB in support. The families were overwhelmed by the goodwill of the president and the committee.
