Begging Monk Arrested

A monk was arrested by police after they were informed that he was begging for money and acted inappropriately.

PATTAYA – June 24,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 12.30 pm Pol.Lt.Col.Pawatchai Sudsakorn-deputy superintendent of Pattaya police station- was notified that a monk had begged for money from local people near the Royal Cliff Beach hotel. After notification the police officers rushed to inspect the scene.

 

At the scene the officers found the monk sitting in a van but when he noticed the police he tried to drive away. The police then chased after him and stopped him. They then took him to the police station where he was searched and was found to be driving without a driving licence.

Upon questioning him he revealed that he earned money from donations that people willingly gave to him and he didn’t beg for it.

 

However, the police prosecuted him for driving without license and fined him 800 baht. Also the monk will be judged by the monk committee.
