Bank Employee Arrested After Stealing Money From ATM In Pattaya

A man has been arrested after he stole 2 million baht from ATM machines in Pattaya. He was in charge of refilling the machines with money.

PATTAYA – November 11, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News] at 16.00 pm Pol.Lt.Gen.Thanet Pinmuangngam-commander of police region 2-, Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong Niemnoi-commander of Chinburi-, Pol.Col.Sakrapee Piewpanit-deputy commander of Chonburi-, Pol.Col.Thammanoon Munkong-superintendent of Bang Lamung police station- had made a statement about the arrest Mr.Chaiyapruek Hunsawas aged 27 who was charged for stealing money from an ATM. He was caught with 1,880,000 baht.


Pol.Lt.Gen.Thanet revealed that on the 6th of November the police were notified from Siam Administrative Management.Co.Ltd. that a thief stole money from an Siam Commercial Bank ATM which is located at the PTT gas station in South Pattaya. Plus the thief stole around 2 million baht. Therefore he ordered the officers to hunt for the thief who was identified as Mr.Chaiyapruek who was an employee of the company and he was in charge of refilling ATM’s with money. Later the police took him to be questioned at the police station where he confessed that he had stolen around 2 million baht and only had 1,880,000 baht left.

Later the police officers took him to re-enact at the crime scene. However the police officers prosecuted him according to Thai law.
