Bangsaen beach is usually calm and peaceful, but is becoming more and more popular amongst people from all over Thailand as a holiday destination.

The main Bangsaen Beach Road is now packed with shops and restaurants and the beachfront hosts a wide array of commercial activities including water sports.

PDN reporters enjoyed the afternoon lounging on the beach, taking photos and interviewing the visitors. When asked why they had made their trip this particular weekend the general reply was that with the schools on long vacation this is the best time of the year and it was a good idea to get away from the political frustration in Bangkok.

Some also said that Bangsaen isn’t far from Bangkok and it’s quieter and cleaner than Pattaya beach. Many also praised its fine beach with clean sand and a light surf which is perfect for family members who can’t swim very well and are free from the danger of being hit by surfboards. The wide variety of restaurants and availability of restrooms was also cited as a big plus.

For those who prefer it quieter it was noticeable that there aren’t so many people at the far end of the beach. But be warned, the reason for this is its rocky nature and the danger of cut feet.

From the praise show by its visitors there’s no doubt that Bangsaen could well be the number one beach destination for Thai tourists.
