PATTAYA – March 27, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 8 a.m., an report of a police officer selling drugs in the Banglamung area was received by Pol. Col. Suphathee Boonkrong, vice commissioner of Chonburi provincial police.

He commanded Pol. Lt. Col.Thanomsak Intarabut, a detective inspector, to bring police forces to join with Pol. Col. Suphachai Phuikaew, director of Banglamoong police station, Pol. Lt. Col. Jakkrin Tuasuparp, detective director, and Pol. Lt. Col. Nit Withinantakit, detective inspector, to have a meeting to coordinate to arrest the suspect.

The police had learned of the rogue police officer during a previous arrest of a 16-year-old drug user, identified as Mr. Watcharachai Duangmueang. Police caught the teen drug-user with 2 tablets of meth in front of a hotel room at the SR House bungalow, moo 5, Nakluea, Banglamung, Chonburi.

When officers brought him to question, the teen boy testified that he bought the meth from the owner of the bungalow, identified as Pol. Sen. Serg. Maj. Samran Tabtimtes, 53 years old, the squad leader of the suppression division, Banglamung police station.

So the police went to arrest the bad cop, while he was standing in front of SR House Bangalow. Officers searched in his trousers’ pockets and found 10 tablets of meth. They then searched his bungalow and found another 85 meth tablets and 0.6 grams of ice hidden in his bedroom.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to buying the drugs from a “Mr. Duang,” a man from Trad. The police sergeant then sold the drugs to teenagers in Pattaya.

The work record of Pol. Sen. Serg. Maj. Samran Tabtimtes shows that he graduated from the Police Academy school, Khaonoi, generation 18. He eventually came to take the responsibility of the police officer of the shift. He had been scheduled for a March 29 promotion at the Banglamung police station, after attaining a passing royal letter of appointment from the police training.

However, earlier this month the police sergeant was put on probation after his urine test showed violet urine, indicating the presence of drugs. Then he got arrested after being identified by his teen customer.

A journalist gathering information saw the suspect cop in jail, and reported his concern that the suspect looked so depressed all the time, and it seemed he was likely to commit suicide. So the police kept a close watch on the suspect, and he was sent to the court immediately.

However, the high-ranking officers of the Chonburi provincial police opposed the suspect’s release on bail, because he was a cop who had violated the law. The suspect will also be terminated from the police force prior to his trial.
