At the View Talay Condominium 2, on the 14th floor of Building A, as the lift was opening, police found a seriously injured victim, Miss Aem-On,[35] from Singburi, who was covering her body with only a towel covered in bloodstains. She had been stabbed on the left side of her neck. She managed to explain that the attacker was a foreign man, later identified as Kevin Thomas Fitzgerald (53) from Australia, who lived in room no. 434/671 on the 14th floor. The man had taken her from a beer bar in South Pattaya to his room to have sex.

Miss Aem-On said after they’d had “natural” sexual intercourse on the sofa, the suspect demanded she perform unacceptable acts to which she did not agree. He then got angry and put a pillow against her face. According to Miss Aem-On , she was struggling under the pillow when, unexpectedly, the man had a knife in his hand and stabbed her in the neck. However, she managed to get out of his room and cried for help from other residents.

Based on the information received from Miss Aem-On, police went to the suspect’s room. They knocked on the door and had to wait for 30 minutes. In the room police found the victim’s clothes, a hand bag and bloodstains on the sofa and a pillow.

Mr. Fitzgerald was taken to the police station but refused to give any information to the police. Miss. Aem-On has now recovered and will be providing officials with more information about the incident.
