Arrested Gamblers Shout At PoliceA group of gamblers who were arrested by police were scolded by 3-4 females who claimed their husbands were in the police, they also shouted at reporters who were also at the scene.
PATTAYA – May 12,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2.00 a.m., Pol.Col. Sukthas Phoomphanmuang (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province) had received complaints from local people that there was an illegal gambling den at a house no. 232/27, Ekmongkhon village, Thep Prasit road, Moo 12 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province. Therefore, Pol.Col. Sukthas had commanded Pol.Col. Yongyuth Wannuea (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya city police station) to inspect the scene together with plain clothes police.
When the police team arrived at the entrance to the village the village security guards tried to stop them from going in and spoke impolitely to the officers as if he was a look out for the gamblers, but the police did not pay attention to them and just walked up to the house. At the house the officers found 2 groups of gamblers who were playing dummy joyfully.
The police arrested Miss Yaowalak Yothawong, aged 50, who was the house owner, and 8 gamblers as follows : 1. Mrs. Em-orn Siriphong, aged 50, 2. Miss Thanaree Thangthong, aged 30, 3. Mrs. Jintana Phonrob, aged 48, 4. Miss Nuanphan Phoomkaew, aged 52, 5. Miss Kanoknat Inmanee, aged 44, 6. Mr. Eng-kiang Sae – Lue, aged 54, 7. Mr. Niran Mayotha, aged 29 and 8. Mr. Ratchaphong Jankhao, aged 31, with 8 packs of cards, 100 THB, 2 gambling tables, 27 chairs and accounting books that recorded the dens revenue.
Also while arresting the gamblers some of them claimed that their husbands were in the police and scolded the arresting officers. They also scolded and shouted at the journalists who were also at the scene.
